Gary D. “Mick” Jones, nee Gary Allen Horn, 72, passed away Saturday January 20, 2018 at his residence in DeSoto.
Mick was born April 2, 1945, in Chicago Heights, the son Don and Mary Lou (Tripp) Jones and Allen and Margie Horn.
He married Sheila Dianne “Russell” on August 18, 1967, in Desoto. They shared over 50 years of marriage.
Mick retired after 42 years of Tinner in Local 268. He served proudly in the Army from 1962 – 1966 he served in Germany 18 months of this time.
He is survived by his wife Dianne, his children Micki and husband Jeff Moon; Jim Jones; Tammy and husband Jason Coffer; Chrissy and husband Dereck Bittner all of DeSoto, his grandchildren, Cody Moon, Levi Coffer, Amy Moon, Miranda VanZandt, Bodie Jones, Riley Coffer, Makenzi Vanzandt, Kierstyn Bittner, and step daughter Hannah Clark and one great granddaughter; 5 siblings
He was preceded in death by both sets of parents and step brother Bob Dubuis.
Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m at Walker Funeral Home in Hurst. Burial will follow at DeSoto Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be prior from 11:00 – 1:00 at funeral home.
