Scott Allan Arnold, 63, departed this life unexpectedly on December 23, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.
Scott was born August 4, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Gene Edwin and Ruth Ethelyn (Matthews) Arnold and grew up in Oak Park, Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Rocio Del Carman Hernandez in 1993. They shared over 25 years of marriage where they raised two sons Gene Daniel and Allan Francisco Arnold.
Scott honorably served his country with the Army in Korea for two years.
Scott and his family made their home in Carbondale. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a master in Environmental Engineering. He spent his career with the Environmental Protection Agency as an Environmental Engineer in the Air Department.
Scott is survived by his Wife Rocio; sons Gene and Allan Arnold of Carbondale; his father Gene Arnold of Phoenix; Sisters Lisa and Laura; Brother Ross; and many of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Arnold.
Scott was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs as well as all Chicago Sports.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Carbondale at 10:00 a.m., Saturday December 29, 2018, with Father Robert Flannery officiating. Visitation will be immediately prior, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Memorial donation may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
