CARBONDALE – Sofia H. Karayiannis, 89, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
She was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Amalias, Greece, to Maria (Karapanou) and Spyros Demakopoulos.
She married Haralabos Karayiannis.
Survivors include son, Dimitrios (Maria) Karayiannis of Carbondale; son, Spyros of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Mary (Takis) Kalabokis of Cape Coral, Fla.; grandchildren, Nikki, Christos and Haralabos (Robbie).
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, in Huffman-Harker-Walker Funeral Home of Carbondale, with Father Justin Foster of Royalton officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 26, at the funeral home.
