Born and raised at Walker Funeral Home in Carbondale, the son of James W. and Mary (Shafer) Walker, he has worked in the family business all of his life and upon the death of his mother, runs the family business.
Graduated 1991 from Carbondale Community High School.
Attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and Pierce Mortuary School in Jeffersonville, IN, studying Mortuary Science and Funeral Service.
Certified by C.A.N.A. to operate Walker Cremation Services, Inc.
Licensed by the State of Illinois as a cremator operator.

Jim Cuff
Jim is originally from Collinsville, Illinois. He relocated to the Carbondale area in 1999. Jim is a recent retiree from the State of Illinois where he worked for 26 years. He served the people of Illinois in Public Safety Communications. Jim is licensed by the Ste of Illinois as a crematory operator, and has recently joined Walker Funeral Homes to assist in our crematory operation. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Retired State Police Association of Illinois.
Sidney A. Logwood
Sidney A. Logwood was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the Worsham College of Mortuary sceince, graduating in 1979, He completed his apprenticeship at he Williams Chapel PC and was licensed by the State of Illinois in 1981; he continued with The Williams Chapel until the end of 1991. He then started a funeral service offering his services to do removal and embalmings.
In 1994 he joined the staff at the Taylor's Funeral Home embalming and directing until 1995 when he became a full time pastor.
In 1996 Sidney had the opportunity to complete his ministerial training at the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary through a seminary extension being offered in the Chicago area.
In May of 2003, Sidney accepted the pastorate at the Rock Hill Baptist Church of Carbondale.
Sidney now joins the staff at Walker Funeral Home bringing his many years of professional services to the Carbondale area.
He is married to Hope Horace-Logwood and they have 4 beautiful children Jameela, Jonathan, Taj, and LaTonya.
