It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Loran Thomas “Tom” Robison Sr. of Lafayette, Indiana on August 1, 2022, at the age of 68.
Tom was born September 30, 1953 in Herrin, Illinois, to Loran Gordon and Nina Lee (Hicks) Robison.
Tom graduated from Herrin High School, Herrin, Illinois, class of 1971.
Tom worked in the meat packing industry since the age of 19, first at DuQuoin Packing in DuQuoin, Illinois and then in Hyrum, Utah at Tri-Miller. He retired in 2016 from Indiana Packers Corporation in Delphi, Indiana.
He married Betty Ruth Howard on June 2, 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Hurst, Illinois.
Tom loved his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed his weekly drinking night with his buddies at the bowling alley – where they claimed that they bowled….
Tom will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Betty Ruth Robison of Lafayette, Indiana; sons Tom (Renee Streib) Robison, Jr. of Lafayette, Indiana, and Randy (Katie) Robison of Brownsburg, Indiana; grandchildren Christopher and Sabrina Robison of Lafayette, Indiana and Ellie, Charlotte and Michael Robison of Brownsburg, Indiana; siblings Teresa (Sam) DeMarie of DuQuoin, Illinois, David Robison of Hurst, Illinois, Tina (Steve) Sloan of Galatia, Illinois and Donna (Greg) Robinson of Bush, Illinois and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loran and Nina Robison and his brother, Wayne Robison.
Visitation will be Monday August 8, 2022 at First Christian Church in Hurst, Illinois from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will begin at 12 p.m. with Pastor Gene Herndon of Coyle, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville, Illinois.
Walker Funeral Home of Hurst is entrusted with arrangements.
