Bonnie Williams entered Heaven peacefully on December 6, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving children.
She was born November 28, 1950, in Shawneetown, Illinois, the daughter of the late Walter Eugene and Wawneeda (Lampert) Williams.
Bonnie came from a large, close-knit family who cherished every opportunity to gather—holidays, birthdays, fish fry’s, or simply any occasion to be together. Her greatest joy in life was her children, whom she loved and adored beyond measure.
She is survived by her daughter, Tara Reed-Drew, and her son, Stacy Ray Reed, both of Carbondale; her sisters, Freida Armstrong of Arizona and Kim Williams of Elizabethtown; her brothers, Terry (Jane) Williams of Marion, Bobby (Ginger) Williams of Norris City, Danny Williams of Marion, and Randy Williams of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews who meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Wawneeda Williams; her brother, Wendell Williams; and her sister, Barbara Stacey.
Bonnie had a deep love for the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, collecting rocks, and spending time outside—passions instilled in her by her parents and carried proudly through the generations. Her love for God’s creatures was boundless; over the years, she lovingly cared for a variety of pets, including raccoons, a skunk, squirrels, parakeets, cats, and dogs.
With that same spirit of togetherness and love for nature, the family and Bonnie’s cherished friends will gather at Jones Lake in Equality for a Celebration of Life in the spring.
