It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the loss of Barbara Ann Skelton on Sunday July 9, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale with her loving daughters by her side.
Barbara was born on April 9, 1954 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of the late Richard and Annie (Hoover) Livergood.
Barbara was an R. N. for over 40 years but her great love in her life was her children. She enjoyed taking them hiking and camping and showing them how to live off the land… way before it was an “in thing”. She was a nature lover and enjoyed studying medicinal plants and all their remedies. The last years she spent with her children and her grandchildren, which she adored each and every one and was so very proud of them.
She is survived by her daughters; April Tellor, Michelle Smith, and Rebecca Kimmel, and eight grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son Jason Tanner and her parents Richard and Annie Livergood.
A private service will be held.
Walker Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted with arrangements.
