Harold Leon Harker, 79, of Anna, formerly of Carbondale, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Integrity Nursing Home in Anna, Illinois.

Harold was born in Centralia, Illinois on October 19, 1943 to the late Carol T. Harker and Jewell G. (Wooters) Harker.

He was united in marriage to the late Lois M. Lemmon on March 21, 1965. They shared over 55 years of marriage till her passing on December 6, 2021.

Harold worked for Huffman Funeral Home for many years till he and his wife bought the funeral home and it became Huffman Harker Funeral Home. Harold and his wife owned and operated the funeral home till his retirement in 2011.

He enjoyed playing volleyball with friends and had a bit of a classic car fetish. He also was a member of the Carbondale Rotary Club and the Kiwanis.

Harold is survived by his two daughters; Pamela O’Hagan and Bonnie (Joe)Hickey both of Carbondale, and one son Bradley Harker of Dongola, Illinois; three grandchildren; Zachary O’Hagan, McKenna and Peytyn Hickey; sister Virginia Bryant of California; sister-in-law Juanita Mariano of California; brother-in-law Wilbur (Karen) Lemmon of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Jewell Harker, and wife Lois Harker.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale.
