On Thursday, January 29th, 2026, the Lord called one of his best good ol’ boys home. Herman Dexter “Dee” Pinkston, passed away in the company of a dear friend of his. He was born on November 7th, 1962, in Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of the late Charles and Violet (Ellis) Pinkston. He was raised in and lived out his life in Pomona Illinois, nestled amongst the nature he loved.
He is survived by many loved and cherished members of his Chamness Care family where he spent over three decades dedicating his heart to caring for others. Survived also by many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, great-grand nieces & nephews, cousins, fishing buddies, drinking buddies, as well as many other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Violet & father Charles “Bud” Pinkston. His beloved big brother Charles “Butch” Pinkston, and his dearly loved sisters; Martha K. Pinkston, Georgia E. Jolly, Charlotte A. Boone & Tiny Pinkston.

Viewing will be Saturday, February 7th at Walker’s Funeral Home, located in Alto Pass, IL, from 12 pm to 2 pm.
