James “Jim” Halleran, 73, of Pittsburg, Illinois, passed into eternal rest on March 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on June 4, 1952, in Herrin, Illinois, to Jack M. and Charlotte (Leads) Halleran. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Rosanne V. Dallas, and together they shared over 47 wonderful years of marriage built on love, dedication, and family.

Jim devoted more than 50 years of his life to the timber industry, where he took great pride in owning and operating multiple companies. He was a hardworking man who found joy in the outdoors—especially hunting and fishing—and was known for his mechanical skills and ability to fix just about anything. Above all, Jim cherished his family and the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosanne “Donna” Halleran; his children, Denny (Trish) Halleran, Brooke (James) Stewart, James L. (Mary Ann) Halleran, and Kelly (Gabriel) Smith; his mother, Charlotte Halleran; his grandchildren, Gabriel Rothermel, Kayla Halleran, and Coy Halleran; his brothers, Jackie, Bob, and Roger Halleran; his sisters, Elizabeth Todd and Kathy (Tom) Grasher; and many other dear family members and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jack M. Halleran, and his brothers, Billy Ray and Ronald Halleran and his beloved dog Stubby.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Blairsville Cemetery, with Pastor Greg Parker officiating.

Walker Funeral Home of Hurst is entrusted with arrangements.
