Ronald Halleran, 65, of DeSoto, Illinois passed into eternal rest on December 19, 2025, at City of Hope Hospital in Zion, Illinois.
Ronald was born on September 18, 1960, in Herrin, Illinois, the son of Jackie M and Charlotte (Leeds) Halleran.
Ronald was a self-employed sawmill operator, logger, farmer, and trucker.
Ronald loved hunting, fishing, and his animals. He especially loved riding his mules through the mountains.
He is survived by his son, Cody Halleran and wife Heather of Pomona; mother; Charlotte Halleran of DeSoto; brother; Jim and Donna Halleran of Pittsburg; Jack Halleran of De Soto; Roger Halleran of Waltonville, Robert and Kathy Halleran of Royalton; sisters; Elizabeth Todd of Murphysboro; Cathy and Thom Grasher of De Soto; grandchildren; Beau, Dean, Haylynn and Amberlee Halleran of Pomona; many loving nieces and nephews , great friends, and his beloved mule Nellie.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father; Jackie M. Halleran and older brother William Ray Halleran.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Royalton First Baptist Church (located west of Royalton on 149) with Pastors Mario Ramos and Ronald Knox officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville, Illinois, immediately following service.
