It is with our deepest sorrow that we mourn the loss of Sharon Kathleen Lavender who passed away on Thursday, September 7th 2023 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Sharon was born on November 28th, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Rupert Charles and Naomi (McKenzie) Ballard.
Sharon is survived by her husband Roy Lavender and children Aaron and wife Barbara Lavender of Ava, and Matthew and Heather Lavender of Carterville. Grandchildren; Jeremy, Tyler, Cody, Austin, Hannah, Dustin, and Devin. Great grandchildren; Aubrey Ann, Layla, Corbin, Taylin Rose and many more family and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents Rupert and Naomi Ballard, Children; Rebecca Kaye Clifford and Judith Gail Lavender and siblings Bob Ballard, Charles “Porky” Ballard, Gary Ballard and Grace Ann Cole.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 14th at Walker Funeral Home in Hurst, Illinois from 2-3:30 pm. Services will follow with Reverend Paul Hicks officiating.
Walker Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted with arrangements.
