Kathleen Sue Frierdich ~ Makanda December 28, 1951 - January 11, 2024

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Kathleen Sue Frierdich who passed away peacefully Thursday January 11, 2024 at her residence.

She was born at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona on December 28, 1951 the daughter of the late Harold and Wilma Doris (Evans) Henson.

Kathy was a beautiful soul and the most kind and loving person anyone could know. She lived every day with unconditional love for her family and adored her children and grandchildren. Kathy was an avid reader of long novels, and loved beautiful flowers, nature, and animals. She loved and cared for so many animals during her life including horses, dogs, cats, goats, sheep, and her current dog named River. She gave the warmest hugs and always had the biggest most loving smile you could imagine.

Growing up in a military family, she was born at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona and lived everywhere from England to other states across the U.S., before graduating from Mascoutah High School in Illinois.

In 1971, she graduated from the International Fine Arts College of Fashion with a degree in Fashion and Merchandising. After starting a family, she pursued a career in healthcare and nursing where she worked for several decades. She was known for being a very gentle and caring nurse by her patients. A very spiritual person, Kathy was an Ordained Minister with the New Thought Church.

Kathy loved her Family, Grandkids, Reading Novels, Smiling, Laughing, Hugging, and everything positive. She made everyone feel like she loved them “The Most”!

Kathy was preceded in death by her Father Harold Henson, Mother Wilma Doris Henson, and her Stepmother Annelle Henson. Survived by a brother Mark Henson, 3 Sons Sun Song (Sarah), Tony (Brandi), Jacob (Haley), 10 Grandchildren, Ariel, Aurora, Joseph, Tyler, Cole, Emery, Crue, Brantley, Kennedy, Madison, and many friends.

She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, love of life and the most caring person anyone could meet.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
